Throughout this class, we have been using twitter to develop our personal learning network. For this purpose, twitter is great! I have been able to connect with other students in my field and share ideas and articles about education. Sharing articles and opinions is really the only function I have found that twitter is great at. I don’t love twitter discussions because it is not an easy format to read other people’s responses. That’s really the only issue I’ve had is that sometimes when a discussion is happening on twitter, reply tweets in the discussion will appear out of order and it can be confusing.
I used Wix to complete the website design assignment because I had worked with Wix several times before. Designing websites is not one of my favorite things to do, because I am not very good at it and it always takes me a really long time. Even though I had used Wix before, I still found myself struggling to make all of the pages functional and easy to access. However, during this assignment I really focused on the creative aspects of the website design. I learned how to make links into buttons so that they were more visually appealing and how to have a horizontal menu as my header on every page. Next time I use Wix I want to be able to have a more cohesive theme throughout my website, but I had fun designing all of the cool pages. Check it out:

One of the coolest things we learned about in class is adaptive and assistive technologies. These technologies allow students of all abilities to function independently in the classroom. I personally have not been in a classroom with students who used adaptive or assistive technologies, but I have been a part of theatre productions which provided closed captioning and live interpretation for the deaf and hard of hearing. Some challenges I could foresee with adaptive technology in the classroom are really just centered on teacher familiarity. It’s important that teachers are open and willing to learn when they have students who receive accommodations. It’s our responsibility as educators to make sure students with accommodations can participate as an active part in our lesson plans and normalize a diverse community with people of all abilities.

So glad you decided to follow with the space theme for your website! I loved when we came up with that for our group project. I had similar issues during the web designing process, trying to make the pages easily accessible for my audience. But I checked out your website and it looks amazing!
